Spring Foodie News

Hello, Jill here!

I hope you’ve been able to get out and make the most of the warmer days when they’ve been with us, it’s so nice to see people sitting outside enjoying some food and drink again.

The town was buzzing last month as the first Dunfermline Fiver Fest took place from 12-26th March. I had some great food over the fortnight including a delicious bacon ciabatta and coffee at Juniper Wine Cafe, super tasty steak burgers from Bryan Beveridge Butcher, and seriously good macaroni cheese and garlic bread at Somewhere Else. If you follow the Totally Locally Dunfermline socials and you can keep an eye out for the next one.

More exciting news is that the lovely ladies at the Wee Vegan Bakery have taken over the Junket Café in Townhill. With tea and coffee from my pals at the Wee Tea Company and The Roasting Project, respectively, it’s a triple local collaboration that makes me so happy! If you haven’t tried their cakes and bakes, it’s a lovely space to while away some time with friends. 

Finally, although life has been really busy recently, I managed to have a long overdue night out with some friends last week.

 

I love The Commercial Inn for a really good pint of Deuchar’s IPA, but they have a fantastic array of real ales, draught beers and cider, and plenty of wines and spirits to choose from too. 

It’s just a great classic pub, perfect for a blether and a catch up over some tasty grub and a drink. Huge congratulations to them for being named Fife Pub of the Year 2022 by CAMRA, I’ll be back soon for a burger and a beer.
