The New Dunfermline Photography

Billy here.

I hope you're seeing some winter sunshine.

About 8 years ago my wife kindly got me an SLR camera as a Christmas present.

Nothing too fancy but it set me on a path which brings much joy into my life.

Simply because...

Photography was something I’d always wanted to get into yet never took the plunge until that Christmas Day.

Since then, I must have taken somewhere in the region of 250,000 photos.

I prefer landscapes.

And there’s nothing I love better than escaping on my own into town or country and snapping away to my wee heart’s content.

Without doubt it has made me much more aware and appreciative of my surroundings. We live in such a beautiful country of course, which makes it easier.

One of my biggest passions is taking a lot of pictures of my hometown.

Whilst a lot of folk seem to have a downer on Dunfermline, I think it’s an amazing place to live and work.

No matter how many times I walk down the Glen or around The Heritage Quarter for example, I always see things from a different perspective.

Different seasons, different weather, a new angle or different light all make it a unique experience every single time.

So as you've been seeing...

These are some recent pics I’ve taken of the town and elsewhere.

I hope you like them :)

In fact some of these might even make it into my 2022 calendar which will be available soon in our new Visit Dunfermline App.

In the meantime, stay safe and let me see your photos if you have them.

All the best.
